Questions and answers
What is an IP address?
It's the address of your internet connection. Websites, mail servers and online services see exactly this address. It usually belongs to your provider: at home — your internet provider, in the office — the office provider or your VPN.
Why is the city wrong?
Location by IP is an estimate based on provider databases. Mobile internet and VPNs often show the city where the provider's equipment is, not where you are.
What does “on a blacklist” mean?
Anti-spam services keep lists of addresses that sent spam. If your mail server or office IP ends up there, company emails start being rejected or going to spam. Usual causes: an infected computer, a hacked mailbox or a misconfigured mail server.
How do I find my IP from the terminal?
Run curl nextgenit.com.cy/ip to get just the address, curl nextgenit.com.cy/ip/all for everything about your connection, and curl nextgenit.com.cy/ip/8.8.8.8 for details on any address.
